Dan Black is a man comfortable in his own skin. Whether joining the Marines, collecting gas memorabilia or building a unique one-of-a-kind home, Dan does it his way. As a designer he favors a minimalist treatment, letting space guide your eye to the sharp design he has laid out. An excellent eye for detail and follow-thru are critical as a creative director and Dan has both in spades.
With two decades of design experience, working in varied areas such as ad agencies and catalogers, he has a wealth of understanding of what works and how to make it visible to a consumer. A lot of designers can please themselves; Dan pleases others with his attitude and his output.
Dan’s background taught him self-reliance and the core principle that creating value for someone is as important and necessary as the communication of the graphic piece itself. Every design piece has to please a number of audiences. It has to effectively communicate the message of the client, it has to accomplish this in the most cost effective manner and the consumer should be able to grasp this idea quickly in a cluttered environment of competing messages. This is something Dan does as well as anyone in the graphic design business.
